Neville Goddard Paul's Autobiography

Episode Summary

PAUL'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY NEVILLE GODDARD 2/22/1963 Tonight we have Paul’s autobiography. It is the story of Paul, and Paul is the greatest and most influential figure in the history of Christianity. After you hear his story, you may judge just who he is. Paul begins where everyone who aspires after public confidence must begin: with his own credentials. Paul wrote thirteen letters; that is, we have thirteen if you will take the double letters as two, like 1st and 2nd Corinthians, 1st and 2nd Timothy, and 1st and 2nd Thessalonians. If you take these as two letters, then he gave us thirteen. He first appears in scripture in the Book of Acts, and bear in mind that the Book of Acts was once part of the Book of Luke. The same author who wrote the Book of Luke wrote the Book of Acts. They were once one volume, or one Book in two volumes. Our early fathers divided the two and placed the Gospel of John between them. But he first appears you may say in the book you would call the gospel of Luke, but we now call it the Book of Acts. He was present when the first Christian martyr was stoned to death, Stephen, and Paul consented unto Stephen’s death. He was present when those who stoned Stephen placed their coats at the feet of Saul—his name was then Saul—and that is the 7th chapter of the Book of Acts. In the ninth chapter, he starts this great journey to Damascus, and he bears with him letters to the high priest in Damascus. He pledges himself that if he finds anyone belonging to the Way—capital W-a-y—be he man or woman, he will bring them bound to Jerusalem. The earliest name given to the Christian was “the Way.” Everyone who believed it, they were called followers of the Way, not Christians. So if he found anyone who belonged to the Way, he would bring them bound to Jerusalem. And on the way to bind those who belonged to the Way, he was blinded by the light; and then the whole thing was revealed to him, and his name was transformed from Saul to Paul. And then we have the remaining portion of the Book of Acts devoted almost exclusively to Paul—at least the last sixteen chapters, which would begin with the very first verse of Acts 13, right through to the twenty-eighth, where he ends his days still propounding this mystery and trying to persuade everyone of the truth of Jesus. Beginning with the law of Moses and all through the prophets, he explained to them in all the scriptures the truth concerning Jesus. And some were convinced by what he said, while others disbelieved (Luke 24:27). That’s the story. PAUL'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY

NEVILLE GODDARD

Tonight we have Paul’s autobiography.
